Place the plate over the surface defect so that the defect is visible through the most suitable opening (you may secure it in place using masking tape).

Remove the excess material (the defect) using an appropriate tool (such as a scraper, razor blade, sandpaper, or a micro-sander).

Remove the plate and polish the area until a perfect gloss is achieved. (Note: Always thoroughly dry the paint defect using an infrared lamp and allow it to cool down before processing).
